Norbert Fiebig

President of German Travel Agencies Union (DRV)

Since 25 June 2014, Norbert Fiebig (born in 1959) has been President of the German Travel Association (DRV) - the leading interest group of the German tourism industry located in Berlin. Holding a diploma in economics, he previously served as CEO of DER Touristik, the tourism division of the REWE retailing group. 
Mr Fiebig started out on his career in the Mannesmann Group, where he held several executive positions before he joined the management of Ameropa Reisen in 1995. In 1997, he became Managing Director of Deutsches Reisebüro Group. From 2005 onwards, Mr Fiebig headed all tourist activities of the REWE retailing and tourism group, which have been run on a global level under the DER Touristik umbrella brand since April 2013. 
As DRV President Mr Fiebig, represents one of the most important sectors of the German economy. Tourism helps securing and creating jobs and economic growth: About 2.9 million Germans are working in the domestic travel industry. With a total of 214.1bn euros, the sector is contributing more to the national value added than for example the automotive industry.  As the leading industry association, the DRV represents the interests of the constantly growing German travel industry. More than 90 percent of the sales revenues of German travel agencies and tour operators is generated by DRV members.

Member of the Advisory Board of Europäische Reiseversicherung (ERV AG)

About DRV:
As a top-level association, DRV represents the travel industry in Germany and defends, more particularly, the interests of tour operators and travel agents. DRV is supported by a significant economic strength: its members represent the largest part of the sales revenues on the tour operator and travel agent market.
